Coolpad Partners Qualcomm to Venture Towards Wearables
China-based smartphone maker Coolpad on Wednesday announced a partnership with international chipmaker Qualcomm to foray in to the wise wearable gadgets portion.
Coolpad’s smart wearable products portfolio will be based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear systems, it said through the ongoing Cellphone World Congress (MWC) 2018.
The profile is targeted on tailor-made services and products to meet the requirements of promising wearable sub-segments, including smartwatches for children and smart trackers for animals, the elderly and important possessions.
“Utilising the highly-integrated Snapdragon Wear platforms, Coolpad is leveraging its advantages in low-power, small-size, 4G connection and powerful location solutions to bring smartwatches and smart trackers to kids, the elderly, animals and families,” said Pankaj Kedia, Senior Director-Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies.
Coolpad is utilising the Snapdragon Wear 2100 and Snapdragon Wear 1100 platforms for its wearable services and products.
“Coolpad is broadening its portfolio away from smartphones and we are excited to work with Qualcomm Technologies on its leading systems, Snapdragon Wear 2100 and Snapdragon Wear 1100, even as we increase our wearables offerings,” included Brandy Kang, Executive vice-president of Coolpad Group.
The Snapdragon Wear 2100 system should meet the needs associated with promising 4G child view part. The Snapdragon Wear 1100 system is perfect for the wise tracking segment.
