Google Hires Former Samsung Executive Injong Rhee to Coordinate online of Things Projects

Alphabet’s Google this thirty days hired Injong Rhee, whom recently resigned as Samsung Electronics’s primary technology officer, to guide its online of Things business, he said in a LinkedIn post Monday.

Google spokeswoman Jane Hynes confirmed to Reuters Rhee’s hiring by Google’s cloud computing unit, but declined to review more.

Rhee said in his post that he will act as entrepreneur-in-residence under Diane Greene, chief executive of the cloud processing group, which sells computer software and hardware to many other organizations.

Rhee stated he is designed to harmonise Alphabet’s different projects linked to the online world of Things, or IoT, a term that encompasses any device that accesses data on the web. Self-driving vehicles, home appliances with digital assistants plus the latest weather condition sensors on farms fall under the promising group of technology.

“One of the first things I wish to do with my Google peers is to obtain these attempts matched and lined up toward a concerted IoT story of Google — along the way, produce distinct customer and enterprise product lines,” Rhee composed in his post.

Each of the leading cloud computing vendors, including, Microsoft, Bing and IBM, provide solutions aimed at assisting organizations analyse data from a network of Internet-connected equipment. Bing’s work is among the most nascent, however.

Rhee left Samsung in December after more than six years truth be told there, most recently providing as a chief technology officer and head of software and services’ analysis and development. He had been mixed up in launch regarding the company’s Knox security system, Bixby digital associate and Samsung Pay cellular wallet.
